The Indianapolis Industrial Center today approved the second phase of rail improvements for the 19.5 acre industrial park. These improvements will allow another 45,000 square feet of crane-served space to become served by CSXT.
Work is scheduled to begin next week. The project is anticipated to conclude by the end of December. A new “Back-saver” switch will be installed along with new rail ties and some replacement rail. With these improvements, building #2 will now offer a rare 2-car, “side-by-side” indoor rail siding. When combined with service from the interior 25 ton bridge crane, steel, lumber and other heavy commodites can be moved and stored with relative ease.
